Adam Lambert Gets Advice From Madonna
Posted by giorgy on 04 Jul 2009 // Category: News //
You might think American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert would be used to brushing shoulders with celebs by now, but meeting Madonna still left him a little starstruck.
"[Madonna] was incredible. I was a bit intimidated, but she was very, very warm," Lambert told E! News during a visit to the studio where he's recording his debut album. "She gave me some advice on how to deal with the fame and the craziness. She said, 'You know, just keep your eye on the prize. Remember what it is that you want to accomplish. And try to ignore all the other crap."...
Despite the fact that he'd prefer you not listen to it, Adam Lambert's "Want" — a song he recorded sometime between 2005 and 2008 — will hit the iTunes Music Store on Tuesday (June 23). Its iTunes debut comes less than a week after it caused a commotion (and a whole lot of confusion) when it premiered on PerezHilton.com.
Late Friday, Lambert released a statement about the song, saying he started working on it "back in 2005, when I was a struggling artist," and that he didn't actually write the tune, but rather he was "hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else."
OS ANGELES (Reuters) - Adam Lambert's debut album is coming out much earlier than planned, some time this summer.
That's great news for fans of the "American Idol" runner-up, but it could be a big headache for some of the major corporations behind the talent show, who have been beaten to the punch by a pair of small, indie labels...
As the American Idol top 10 rehearse day and night to get ready for their first tour, which kicks off Sunday, July 5 in Portland, Ore., one little logistical thing is bugging the boys.
"The guys' tour bus is overcrowded. There's only one bus for the boys and there are seven of us, and no, Adam and Kris don't get their own bus," Scott MacIntyre told us when we caught up with them at rehearsals last week. Before you think he's a squeaky wheel, all six of the other guys echoed that sentiment. Michael Sarver said, "I'm not gonna lie. I just wish it was part of the budget to have a third bus. It's like the testosterone tour this year. No one is looking forward to the cramped boys' bus."
Indeed, the girls have it easier with just three female contestants, a mom and a backup singer or two. "We got lucky," joked Allison Iraheta. "I feel bad for them!"
Read on to find out which contestant calls herself the "skanky one," which one disses the judges, which one has one tiny regret and what the American Idols Live Tour 2009 is going to sound like...

Adam Lambert on Getting Jackson News: “Everybody Just Stopped”
As tributes to Michael Jackson pour into Rolling Stone — be sure to keep an eye out for our special issue, out next week — recent cover star Adam Lambert shared his memories of dancing around his parents’ house, lip-synching to “Beat It.” His early childhood was also heavy on “Thriller” (he cites his love of Halloween as a major reason)...
